General Gort asked Commander Mountbatten and I to remain in his office yesterday because he had a new project for us. He wants us to put together a team in order to formulate a response to an Italian invasion of Abyssinia. He fears that the 'official' plan will look like something from the last war. He sees this as a chance for TRADOC to show what we can do. We have to be ready by June the 8th - that's almost two weeks from now. Just a strategy he stressed, not a detailed plan. I asked if we could choose non-British/French personnel. We can if they agree not to discuss the project with anyone outside of our team.
This could be fun....time for breakfast.
