I had arranged to meet Sally at the Hotel for lunch then at 2 o'clock she said that we have an appointment. We left the restaurant and knocked on the door of a terraced house just round the corner in Church Street. A lady answered and she introduced herself as an estate agent. The house was available for rent with an option to purchase. Sally had been busy while I was away. There are two rooms and a kitchen downstairs with two bedrooms and a bathroom upstairs plus a nice garden behind the house. How could I say no? All it needs is a telephone. We decided to buy it.
I'll convert the second bedroom to an office and I'll need a safe and a separate telephone line.
We quickly went back to the restaurant/bar because the local bank manager is a regular. He was still there so after a chat and a couple of drinks we arranged to get a mortgage after we assured him that we can make a 25% down payment.
We then invited the paratrooper-squad plus a few others for a few drinks this evening. So, I must finish now - chores to take care of.
