We left Aosta early driving south; passed through the western outskirts of Turin then headed west to Bussoleno where we stayed for lunch. We made inquiries about a hotel up in the Alps near to the French border and were given an address in Moncenisio, a small village to the north of the road to France. We arrived there in the afternoon and the view was incredible. To the west and north were mountains towering at least a 1000m above us. We had a nice peaceful evening walking around the small village. I was having trouble trying to understand the local Piedmontese dialect but we managed to order something to eat and drink.
I'm beginning to fall in love with this part of the world, full of breath-taking scenery. The people so friendly and hospitable. Tomorrow we head towards the Modane tunnel then back to Turin for the night.
