The first RAF aircraft begin to arrive at Aerodrom Novi Sad in Yugoslavia. Novi Sad is the nation's second largest city located approx. 40 km NW of Beograd on the Danube river. The 5th RAF Wing is currently in Eritrea after operating from Port Sudan at the beginning of the Italo-Abyssinian conflict. It consists of the 33rd, 57th and 142d Squadrons, all equipped with Hawker Harts from RAF Netheravon, Wiltshire. The three squadrons will be receiving Hawker Hind aircraft after the Harts have been transferred to Yugoslavian personnel. The RAF personnel are scheduled to return to England before the end of the year.
