I was at the HQ early again this Monday to spend some time in the map room with the new material from Salisbury. The puzzle was now becoming complete and it looks as though our provisional plan can be upgraded to the official plan. What really convinced me was a stack of photos which I.D. didn't know what to do with.
"These are road signs so that the personnel know where to find their units. I guess U.S. signs are different. I took the photos and went to see if General Gort was in his office.
"Good morning, General. Are you busy?"
"What do you need?"
"Can you help me with these road signs? I think I have them sorted right."
"Let me see. That looks right."
"That's a sign that their current dispositions are permanent ones, correct?"
"I believe so."
"Then here is our organizational structure. All the units have been stripped down to the bare minimum to keep within the 8,000 man limit.
