After brief stopovers in New Delhi and Singapore the British Foreign Secretary Anthony Eden and his colleagues from France, Germany and The Netherlands finally arrived in Bangkok for talks with the Siamese government. Negotiations will be difficult because the Siamese are demanding ALL territories acquired by the French east of the Mekong river be returned. The French are not willing to go that far arguing that the Mekong is a natural border between Siam and French Indochine. The talks will continue tomorrow.
