I briefly went home to put documents in my safe then walked to TRADOC HQ. I brought General Fuller up to date then chatted with the armour guys before going to the aviation section. I read everything about the progress with the radial engines and informed them about my talks with the two firms in Bavaria. They have been talking about an 18 cylinder version of the US engine which is similar to what BMW in Munich is doing. I told them that I prefer the 18 cylinder option too.
Finally I visited the section that was responsible for the development of trucks and utility vehicles. I was pleased to see that Scammel had sent designs for a larger truck able to carry an entire squad. Also a version with tracks as well as a utility vehicle. They have been busy. There were also designs from Bedford and Norris. Scammel had also sent an armour car design based upon the captured German vehicle. A 6-wheeled armoured car with a turret which could take a 2-pdr AT gun or a couple of cannon/MG's. I shall definitely visit Scammel this week.
