The aircraft carrier HMS Eagle has been ordered back to Devonport for refitting. Its air wing, 12 Fairey IIIFs of 825 Squadron and 12 Blackburn Baffin torpedo bombers of 812 Squadron, are to be transferred to RAF Hal Far on Malta.
