In accordance with instructions from the UK Defence Council the following proposal was submitted to General Gort. It was prepared by RAF and TRADOC personnel.
Fighter: 2+1 long-range fighter
Fighter-bomber: 2
Medium bomber: 2
Heavy bomber: 2
Dive bomber: 1
Torpedo bomber: 1
Reconnaissance: 1
Transport: 2
Liason/Support: 1
1. Some of the above should be multi-role aircraft.
2. This list does not include FAA aircraft but some of the above could be developed for a maritime role.
