In a statement at the House of Commons the Foreign Secretary, Anthony Eden, informed the MP's of his visit to the Middle East and Europe. He briefed Parliament on the expansion of the Egyptian Army as well as the concerns voiced by Italy's neighbours. They see Fascist Italy's foreign ambitions as a serious threat to their sovereignty. Eden has assured these nations that the United Kingdom and France are aware of the situation and are monitoring Italian moves closely.
