Italy's decision to call 75,000 men to arms only confirms what many in the MoD have been saying. It is also considered a further indication that Mussolini will indeed attack Abyssinia. If he attacks sometime this autumn the new troops won't be ready for combat. At a meeting in the MoD General Gort stated that there is no need to change our plans, the recruits won't be at the border area.
