We left Genoa early and drove to Asti where we decided to have lunch. We arrived in Turin at about 3 o'clock and we found a quiet hotel east of the city.
While Sally decided to have a siesta I drove to the address that Admiral Keyes had given to me. It was a subsidiary of a French transportation firm. I asked to see a certain person saying that I'm a friend of another person. That got me to a couple of offices where a person called Jacques introduced himself. He was obviously military and a veteran of the last war judging by his age. He ushered me into another room where I met three more people. We discussed their preparations and how to insure that the exits from the Modane and Mont Blanc tunnels were to be kept clear. They had detailed preparations and even had plans to disrupt the electricity grid - no electricity, no telephones. They had plans to disrupt things in Aosta, too. I asked them if they need more supplies and they asked for some machine guns, ammunition and hand grenades. A nice shopping list! After about one hour I left and went back to the hotel.
We had a fine dinner with wonderful wine then we retired early. Tomorrow we shall be driving to Courmayeur which is near to Mont Blanc and the tunnels.
