We were back where we started, in Toulon. In the evening I met General George Patton Smith and gave him my report and the film rolls. He has scheduled a meeting for tomorrow morning to discuss my report. I then brought up Sally, she is a smart lady and has realized that we are planning to attack Italy. I've told her that we are collecting information for a possible counter-attack, but I don't think she bought it. She has contributed enormously and is employed at TRADOC, but I'm not authorized to tell her anything. He told me to bring her to tomorrow morning's meeting, a second pair of eyes is always good. In the meantime she can explain to his staff what's on these films.
That left the car, could we buy it? I bought it for a good price after being convinced that I can buy spare parts in England. My surprise for Sally - she has grown fond of the car. When we get back home I intend paying the mortgage for our house, rent it out then purchase a new larger house, with space for a family and a car.
We had a late dinner this evening but it was good to be with friends. There had been more rioting in France and maybe a war is needed to unite the people....just thinking.
