Following news of the Italian invasion of Abyssinia the AEF has been placed on alert. Heavy equipment is being placed on flatbeds for further transportation. The 121st Infantry Regiment, 25th Motorized Infantry Division is being embarked on the light cruiser Pluton and its escorting destroyers and transports. The 21st and 22nd Aviation Regiments, equipped with LeO 20s, are transferred late evening to Corsica. At this time all units still believe that they are going to East Africa.
