The Suez Canal message was received in the late afternoon and forward units of the KAR and 4th Indian Division were ordered closer to the border with Italian Somalia. The weather forecast for the 11th was good so a battalion-sized unit from 11th Indian Brigade was embarked on destroyers at Mombasa. Aircraft from 7th RAF Wing have been moved to forward airfields.
