At Mersa Matruh two battalions have been moved forward to Buq Buq on the coast and a location 30 km to the south. The battalions, 2nd Battalion, Cameronians (Scottish Rifles) at Buq Buq and 2nd Battalion, Wiltshire Regiment in the desert, have both been augmented by a battery of the 91st FA Regiment and a company of light tanks from 6th Bn, Royal Tank Corps.
The entire 17th Infantry has arrived at the Siwa oasis complex. A flight of Fairey IIIFs and Westland Wapiti IIAs have also been transferred to the airfield at Siwa.
A squadron consisting of a light cruiser and three destroyers has been sent to Crete to embark a battalion of Greek infantry and to escort a dozen freighters and tankers to the island. The supplies are for RAF squadrons which are scheduled to arrive tomorrow evening.
