There have been encouraging reports coming in from all areas except for the advance on Torino. Advanced units of the 28th Alpine Division are only 25km from the centre of Torino but they are alone. The 27th Division in the north is still trying to take Aosta and the 31st Division in the south hasn't made much progress taking Cuneo either. After the initial chaos in the Italian defences there appears to be more control this evening and the movement of ground forces appears to be better coordinated.
The battles for Aosta and CĂșneo will continue through the night while the movement of artillery regiments to support the frontline formations will have priority. The advance of the 1st Motorized Infantry Division on the right of 31st Division must be rigorous in order to prevent too many Italian forces being sent to the Torino region. French Air Force bombers will primarily be supporting the assault on CĂșneo. General Smith and his staff are with the troops of 1st Division.
