The Royal Navy has a large presence in the Adriatic. Task Forces 'C' and 'M' with two aircraft-carriers and five battleships as well as the 1st and 2nd Heavy Cruiser Squadrons. The combined force attacks enemy bases, i.e. army , navy and airfields along the coast from Pescara to Ancona, Rimini, Ravenna and Venice. They finish the day with a devastating series of attacks on Trieste and Pola.
