Task Force 'G' now with two aircraft-carriers, HMS Eagle and HMS Furious, as well as two battleships, HMS Nelson and HMS Rodney, concentrated on bombing and bombarding air and naval facilities on Sicily. They were joined by aircraft based on Malta.
