The 4th Indian Division is advancing along the coast towards Mogadishu with little resistance from the mainly indigenous forces. Further inland the 2nd and 3rd East African Brigades have been stopped by the Italian 75th Infantry Regiment and 24th Artillery Regiment at Buur Hakaba. To the north the 1st East African Brigade is battling three Battalions of Royal Colonial Troop Corps who are supported by the Aosta Lancers Cavalry Regiment. Little progress is made. The remainder of the Italian 29th Italian Infantry Division, (3rd and 4th Infantry Regiments plus 529th MMG Bn), have taken up positions W and NW of Mogadishu.
The 5th Indian Brigade, with the 1st and 4th Field Artillery Regiments attached, has been sent to support the 2nd and 3rd EA Brigades and clear the road to Mogadishu then advance on the city from the west. Air support is being provided against the Italian forces facing the 1st EA Brigade.
