Wallis and Edward arrived after supper and he started to explain the arrangements for our party. It'll be indoors because it's unlikely that there will be good weather. There will tables so that everyone can sit to eat their meal. It won't be a banquet with gold cutlery, etc. It'll be more like a French lunchtime menu. Three courses with a choice for each course. Selected guests can stay overnight at Windsor Castle. A small bus can be hired to pick people up from the railway station. Space for parking cars is also available.
"Sounds perfect, Edward. At what time can guests arrive?"
"One o'clock. It'll officially end at 20:00."
"As for special guests for overnight. My Mum, Sally's parents, hopefully you and Wallis - don't leave me alone at Windsor - Lord and Lady Gort, George Patton and wife and Winston Churchill and wife."
"What about our German guests? Admiral Canaris definitely."
"I don't have confirmation that they'll be here but you can add Irvine and Lucy Miller if you wish. Their children too?"
"Why not?"
"Maybe Manfred can find a Princess to date. What about my other half of the family, the Mitchell's?"
"Family has to be there."
"Geoffrey de Havilland?"
"A good choice. Sir Philip from the Air Ministry too."
"Do you have enough rooms?"
"Windsor is huge, Bob."
"Then let's add Harry Sopwith, Sydney Camm and Reginald Mitchell. You're the Project Officer for these people and their aircraft are important for the war effort."
"I agree. It'll be an excellent opportunity for key people to talk to each other."
"Dress uniform for military personnel?"
"Yes. We want to dazzle our ladies."
"Then we have a plan. Let's go to the hotel for a coupe of drinks."
