The Boeing Model 300, the passenger version of the four-engine Model 299 bomber, made its maiden flight. It combined the wings, tail, rudder, landing gear, and engines from the bomber with a new, circular cross-section fuselage of 138 in (351 cm) diameter, designed to allow pressurization.
